FABRIC & AIR FRESHNER
There is accumulating evidence that air fresheners and candles are harmful to your body. They leave behind residues in the air that can disrupt the endocrine system and damage your lungs. Researchers have found that burning paraffin candles produced "undesired chemicals," like alkans, alkenes, and toluene, which can have harmful effects on humans. Another way to improve the oxygen availability in and the purity of the air in your home is to use essential oils. Yup. These little molecules not only make your home smell wonderful, but actually improve the air quality inside your home. They don't just mask or cover up stink molecules, but physically attack and destroy them, leaving the air cleaner AND smelling great.

AIR FRESHENER
Diffusing with a cool mist diffuser is the most popular way to freshen the air in your home. This is an easy and quick way to get the effects you are wanting. Below are some other options you might want to use:

Put a few drops on the air filter of your A/C system

Use a reed diffuser

Place cotton balls with a couple of drops of oil on them around the house

Put a couple drops of oil inside a container of baking soda and place in the fridge to get rid of food stink

FABRIC FRESHENER
For fabrics, you just need to make a quick spray to get the oils to do their job. You will need a glass or stainless steel spray bottle, some distilled water and some of your favorite oils. Purification will always be my favorite oil when needing to freshen up the smell of anything. Citrus oils work really well too. Some people love lavender, especially in restful areas.
For a small bottle, (about the size of your hand) put 15 drops of oil and top the bottle off with distilled water. Shake vigorously and then begin spraying your surfaces. Simple.
