There are numerous rewards for being a business owner.
These include:
Creating something for yourself
Being your own boss
Tax advantages
Financial Freedom
Residual Income
There are also some sacrifices you will have to make in order to make your home business successful.
Your Time
Unless you are wealthy already, or you are starting a home business as your primary occupation, you are going to spend around 9 hours a day at work. Or, like me, You are home all day, but already incredibly busy. (Three kids... need I say more?)
Your time is valuable. Your free time is cherished. Maybe you like to come home and have dinner and veg out on the couch. That's great. BUT, what if you spent one hour of that free time and focused on growing a business? How much is your free time worth? Can you take it a step further and dedicate two or more hours?
This doesn't have to be tedious. Make a list of things that need done on a daily, weekly & monthly basis, and make that happen. Follow up with people while watching that evening tv show you love (because, you are probably on your phone any way.) Educate yourself about your product or service by listening to a relevant podcast or audio book on your lunch break, while driving, etc.
What if you sacrificed a little now so that you can have a LOT later?
Your Ego
You have to be ok with people telling you no. (or not right now) You are going to flop a few times, but you can either give up, or get out there and try again. You will get better with time. Ask, How did this experience help me, and choose to grow because of it.
Not everyone is going to be interested in what you are providing. That's ok. Move on. Find another person to share with. Don't bug that person and put a bad taste in their mouth for your product or service. (Do remember though, that a NO usually means not right now. If you are polite and respectful, you may circle back to them in a few months.)
Your Privacy
When you own a small business, you ARE the business. In my experience, my home business kinda becomes my life. No one wants to buy any product or service from a person who isn't a product of the product. People buy a lifestyle, not a product.
You have to find the balance between sharing your own experience with your products and sharing your private life with people. You have to get real with them and show them how what you have to offer has legitimately impacted your life.
This might look different for everyone. You have to work this part out over time.
Your Self Doubt
There are more people out there who believe in you than you think. Most people have more confidence in you than you have in your self. It's true.
Be confident in yourself and your product. look people in the eye and tell them how, what you have can change their lives. Believe it. Live it. Grow your confidence.
There are sacrifices to make if you want to be successful in a home business, but it is SO worth it. Having the freedom to stay home with my kids and still bring in an income is such a blessing. I can work from literally anywhere. Most of the time I am able to multitask and accomplish my work goals while also taking care of my family.
I was doing some job training the other day and I heard someone say, within the next 5 years people are not going to ask, "Are you a part of a MLM," but "Which MLM are you a part of?" The Network marketing business platform is a successful marketing strategy that has helped thousands of people achieve financial freedom and reach personal goals they never thought possible.
